Birmingham are tracking Sevilla striker Arouna Kone and Real Betis midfielder Achille Emana.
Kone has been reported to want a move away in the January transfer window in order to boost his chances of making the World Cup squad for next year's finals in South Africa.
Emana wants to leave Real Betis after failing to win a regular place in the side and has been linked heavily with Everton and Portsmouth. New Birmingham owner Carson Yeung has told boss Alex McLeish he has up to £40m to spend, so Birmigham is not short of funds for acquiring the players.
