Jack Rodwell attracts lots of interest recently.

Of course, Manchester City have joined the group of clubs, who are keen to acquire the Everton prodigy Jack Rodwell. Manchester United have identified the Everton midfielder as a long-term target, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson asking about Rodwell’s personality and prospects. Mark Hughes is sending scouts to most Everton games to monitor the progress of the player.

Rodwell is playing as a central midfielder under David Moyes but could play as a central defender also and it is this versatility that has made him such an attractive target for the country’s leading clubs. It is unlikely that Rodwell will be bid by City as early as January, but a transfer during next summer is a distinct possibility.
