Kevin Strootman was successfully operated

The captain of Sparta Rotterdam Kevin Strootman participated in the last match of his team - against Baronie for the KNVB cup - and was operated immediately afterwards. Sparta will lose him for 4-6 weeks.

In this way the influential midfielder is set to miss the restart of the Eredivisie. Frans Adelaar's team next fixture is against ADO Den Haag on 24th January. 

The youth international has suffered long from a pain in the thigh. But after a consulstation with the medical and technical stuff, he decided to wait for the winter for an operation.
