AZ Alkmaar may be forced to sell
The main reason for this is a loan for 14 million euros which AZ have taken from DSB Beheer, the former sponsor and owner of the team. Just before DSB Beheer went bankrupt, AZ have paid 5 million back. The team from Alkmaar hold hopes that half of the outstanding debt will be written off, but there is little chance for this.
AZ are still looking for a new sponsor, after the former - The financial Empire of Dirk Scheringa - went bankrupt. If there are no candidates, this will reflect this year team's budget and Advocaat will be forced to sell important players to keep the club running.
