Nurnberg desparate to save their season

The Board of Nurnberg seems eager to stay clear from relegation this season. After the disappointing results they sacked Michael Oenning just before Christmas. They hired Dieter Hecking, the coach who saved Hannover 96 in 2006.

After ensuring the right coach, came the time for transfers. Breno and Andreas Ottl, both from Bayern Munchen, are already in the bag. The next hit seems to be Radoslav Zabavnik, Slovakian national team player whose contract with Terek Grozny expired in December, 2009. The defensive midfielder is already in the Nurnberg's training campus in Turkey for some final tests.

On his arrival Dieter Hecking admitted that he will need experience striker as the team struggles to net on with only 12 goals fired this season. There are some rumours that 34-year-old Roy Makaay could join the team. His current team Feyenoord is ready to let his attacker on a free transfer and Roy have already lowered his salary expectations in order to find a club, he can play. The former natioanal Dutch player has scored 78 goals in 129 appearance for Bayern Muchen.
