Bayern lose Van Buyten - recovery period unknown

Despite all hopes it is now definite that central defender Daniel Van Buyten will not be fit enough to join his team in the clash with Nurnberg this weekend. The Belgian tore a calf muscle during Wednesday's 2-1 UEFA Champions League victory against Fiorentina and is quite unlikely to take part in the second leg against Fiorentina. Van Buyten has shown a great performance this season which will make it even more difficult for Bayern to accept his absence.
