Valencia defence in the infirmary

Valencia has lost another defender in the name of Jeremy Mathieu who sustained torn ligaments in the first half of 1-0 Europa League loss to Brugge. The French player must undergo surgery and is expected to stay in recovery for three months. With Mathieu on sidelines, the defence situation for Valencia has worsened as coach Unai Emery is still missing defenders Bruno and David Navarro. Bruno will not be back for at least another week, whereas Navarro will stay on sidelines for up to three more weeks.
