Montpellier Bordeaux Match Preview

One of the biggest revelation versus the biggest disappointment. Hosts finished on 5th place, and former champions finished only on 6th. In this season things should be very different, but maybe not from first match.
First of all, Montpellier sold some influential players - goalkeeper Johann Carrasso, striker Montano (11 goals and 4 assists), attacking midfielder Tino Costa (7 goals & 7 assists). New players are: left winger Marco Estrada from South America, young talented fullback Garry Bocaly from Olympique Marseile - he already played for Montpellier in last season as an loan player. Another new faces are: Hasan Kabze who was too poor for Rubin Kazan, 23 years old striker Olivier Girou from FC Tours, Ligue 2, he scored 21 goals in last season, but Ligue 1 is of course much higher level. He already scored for his new club as Montpellier played in qualification for Europa League. He scored a winner in first match against Hungarian team ETO Gyor, unfortunately they lost second match 0:1 at home, and in penalty shoot-out Hungarian side was better. Some defensive players like captain & centre back Nenad Dzodzic, right fullback Bocally and Abdelhamid El Kaoutari are not fit. What is even worse - the best centre back Ever Spahic is suspended.
Bordeaux has a new coach. Jean Tigana comes to action as former coach Laurent Blanc is in charge at France NT. Bordeaux lost only striker Chamakh, but I think it is not a big disaster, because they have still Fernando Cavenaghi, Yoann Goufrann, Jussie or David Bellion. We should also remember that their midfield and set pieces are lethal weapons The only new player is talented centre back Vujadin Savic who should be a subs-bench player. But today Bordeaux will be without some important guys. First of all 1st goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso and 2nd goalkeeper, experienced Ulrich Rame are out. 4th goalkeeper Keita is injured, so Bordeaux has only 3rd choice, 22 years old Kevin Olimpa who played for Angers in last season. Regular centre back Ciani is suspended, regular right fullback Chalme is also suspended just like centre back Henrique who usually play when Ciani is unavailable. Other regular centre back Marc Planus is also out. So, new guy Savic will make his debut as centre back.
Hard choice. Bordeaux has way too many problems with goalkeepers and defenders. Even teams without big offensive power like Montpellier can hurt them, but... not necessarily. On the other hand, visitors offensive power is so big. All in all they were bad in last season and they don't deserve for much trust when they play without key players for defensive display. Maybe over will be right choice, but it's hard to count on Montpellier's offensive players. Too many question marks, no bet for me.
